About
An engineering firm in Gaborone.
MechaNova Technology (Proprietary) Limited is registered in Botswana and based in Gaborone, Botswana.
Purpose
What the firm is for.
Botswana businesses that need something engineered usually face the same two problems. Software is sold to them as a subscription they can never leave, and hardware design is split across suppliers who each own one piece of the problem.
MechaNova exists to do both properly and hand the result over. We scope the work in plain language, produce a design you can review before money is spent on building, and give you the source code, the drawings and the documentation at the end. They are yours.
We are a new practice on the engineering design side and we say so. We do not have client case studies for it yet. What we have is demonstrated build capability, an engineering method, and clear scope — including a written statement of what we will not take on.
The team
Who does the work.
The firm is led by its Managing Director, a Mechatronics and Industrial Instrumentation engineer with working experience across instrumentation, SCADA and PLC systems, embedded electronics and mechanical design.
That is deliberately the same person across both service lines. The engineer who specifies an instrument is the engineer who writes the software that reads it, which is why the two sides of the business are not separate departments.
We run a small core team and engage specialist contractors per project — a PCB assembler, a fabricator, a registered professional engineer where certification is required. This is normal practice for firms our size, and we would rather tell you plainly than imply a larger permanent staff than we have.
How we operate
How an engagement runs.
Every job runs the same four steps: scope, design, build, handover. The scope is agreed in writing first, including what is out of scope. The design is reviewed with you before it is built. Handover includes the files and training, not just a login.
Where a project needs a registered professional engineer's certification — structural, civil, building services, electrical reticulation — we say so up front and work alongside one rather than pretending it is within our scope. The detail is on the engineering design page.
