Engineering Design
Electronics, mechanical and control systems — designed together.
Real equipment almost always needs all three. A machine has a board in it, a frame around it and logic running it. Split those across three suppliers and the usual result is three suppliers blaming each other when it does not work.
We handle them together. One design, one set of drawings, one party responsible.
Disciplines
Three disciplines, equal weight.
Electronics Design
The board, the sensors and the power behind them.
- Circuit design and schematic capture
- PCB layout and routing
- Microcontroller and embedded hardware design
- Sensor selection, signal conditioning and instrumentation circuits
- Power supply and interfacing design
- Simulation and validation before anything is built
Mechanical Design
The parts, the drawings and what the fabricator can actually make.
- Part and assembly design, 3D modelling and CAD
- Dimensioned fabrication drawings, tolerancing and GD&T
- Design for manufacture — designed around what local fabricators can produce
- Reverse engineering of existing or discontinued parts
- Jigs, fixtures, guarding, brackets, frames and custom equipment
- Bills of materials, material specification and revision control
Control Systems Design
What the equipment measures, decides and does.
- Control philosophy and system architecture
- Instrumentation selection and measurement strategy
- PLC and microcontroller control logic
- HMI and SCADA interface design
- Control panel layout and wiring schedules
- Sensing, actuation and feedback loop design
- Automation of manual or semi-manual processes
Deliverables
What you receive.
Documentation is not an extra. It is the deliverable — and it is yours to keep, use and give to anyone else.
- Schematics and PCB files
- 3D models and dimensioned fabrication drawings
- Control philosophy documentation
- Wiring schedules and panel layouts
- Bills of materials and material specifications
- Revision history — you can see what changed and why
What we do not do
We do not offer designs that require a registered professional engineer's certification:
- Structural engineering designs requiring certification
- Civil engineering designs requiring certification
- Building services design
- Electrical reticulation design requiring a registered professional engineer
We say this up front rather than after you have paid. Where a project needs certified design, we work alongside a registered professional engineer and stay responsible for our part of it.
Have a part, a machine or a process that needs designing?
Send us a photo, a sketch or a description. We will tell you what it would take, what we would need from you, and where the boundaries of the job sit.
